GP Fair is the UK’s first non-profit recruitment agency for NHS Primary Care. We are a Community Interest Company limited by Guarantee.

Dr. Elly Stanton BM. DRCOG, founder of GP Fair, is a Birmingham GP. Having worked as a locum for 4 years, she feels that stability and putting patients before profit enhances the life of a locum and benefits patients and practices.

We believe we provide a fairer deal for GPs and Practices.

  • We help independent GPs find temporary, regular, or permanent work placements in Practices where their individual skills and competencies are most appreciated
  • Unlike conventional locum agencies, we don’t charge exorbitant fees to our Participating GPs or Member Practices
  • We help Practices in the West Midlands area fill their vacancies from our pool of qualified, vetted GPs
  • We run a mentoring scheme and offer quality improvement projects for our Participating GPs

Elly Stanton

The Founder

Elly Stanton qualified in 1988 from Southampton Medical School, and marked 20 years as a GP in August 2014. She has survived by working part-time and busying herself with her family, husband Alan, a paediatrician, and a son and two daughters. She hopes to keep going for at least another 15 years.

Elly’s aspirations revolve around supporting and protecting the NHS, future-proofing the GP practice where she works, and doing her bit as a citizen.

GP Fair is her way of providing a sustainable human resource for the NHS, and supporting doctors in finding satisfying work and securing their long-term futures as NHS stakeholders.

How it works

Step 1
Register
Register

GPs register online to begin our application process. We contact all applicants personally to guide them through our vetting process and ensure that they are the right fit.

Step 2
Submit Availability
Register

On successful application, Participating GPs submit their availability to us which we enter onto a central diary.

Step 3
Receive Work
Register

When a Member Practice contacts us with dates for which they need cover, we connect them with Participating GPs who are available at those times.
